Engr. Emmanuel A. Galang's journey began with a simple idea: to establish a radio station exclusively for student training at the Galang Technical Institute in Bataan. This vision evolved into the creation of the GV Broadcasting System, leading to the birth of DWGV, Angeles City's pioneering FM station. Licensed by the NTC, DWGV commenced test broadcasts in 1983, covering a vast area of Central Luzon with its 5kw signal at 99.1 MHz.
Over four decades, DWGV transformed into a cornerstone of media, providing employment opportunities and nurturing talents. Some of the known personalities in the world of broadcasting have set their foot here before and started their media journey. From Ted Failon and Erwin Tulfo, Daniel Razon, to Teleradyo anchor and ABS-CBN reporter Lyza Aquino. It also became a training ground for aspiring broadcasters, offering hands-on experience to students from various institutions. DWGV's programming, a blend of entertainment and information, catered to diverse audiences, establishing it as a hub of communication in Angeles City.
Expanding its reach, DWGV extended its network to Batangas, embodying Engr. Galang's dreams. Through its commitment to education, information dissemination, quality entertainment, and public service, GV Broadcasting System, Inc. has become a force for positive change, serving as a bridge between the government and the community while continually enhancing the quality of life for its listeners.
